Technosport, an S&S Activewear Company, Announces New 70,000-Square-Foot Facility In Calgary, Alberta

September 21, 2020 – Technosport, one of Canada’s leading wholesale distributors of imprintable apparel, is expanding its western presence with a 70,000 square foot distribution centre in Calgary, Alberta. Set to open in Q1 2021, it has more space for a deeper inventory position and an expanded SKU offering, and it’s bigger, brighter, and better equipped to handle the company’s increasing inventory.

“Our first order of business was to secure a new facility equipped with the space and technology we need to better service our markets one and two days away from Calgary, including throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba,” says S&S Vice President of Operations Mike Mannucci. “We’re committed to our relationships in those markets and having a long-term local presence. The new facility will expand our product offering and improve our inventory-stocking rates, shipping performance, and order accuracy.”

In January, Technosport was acquired by United States-based wholesale distributor S&S Activewear. Since the acquisition, S&S has been working on the operations and purchasing side of the business, as well as strategically redistributing merchandise across the network of locations.

“Our mission is to provide customers with what they need when they need it,” says S&S Chief Operating Officer Frank Myers. “To stay true to this promise, we intend to stock the right products in each of our Canadian markets and carry top-selling styles in greater quantities in each of our Canadian buildings. This new facility will allow us to do so from Calgary.”

Only a short distance from Technosport’s current facility, the new location will allow the Technosport team to expand its operations, not just retaining its current staff but adding over 40 new jobs.

“This new space will better serve our customers and employees, which we believe is the perfect recipe for continued growth in Canada,” says S&S President Jim Shannon. “By improving our work environment, we can improve the quality of our customer service as well. We call that a win-win.”
