January 11 – 2021 – S&S Canada is expanding its Western presence with a 70,000 square foot distribution centre in Calgary, Alberta. The move happened over the weekend, and the new distribution centre opens its doors today. Outfitted with the latest technology, the new facility is significantly larger and better equipped to handle the company’s increasing inventory and sales volume.

“This new building is exactly what we need to support the 2021 collection we’ve been putting together over the past few months,” says S&S Chief Operating Officer Frank Myers. “Not only can we now offer new products, but we’ve also more than doubled the current SKU offering, giving our Western Canadian customers better access to all our best-selling items.”

Thanks to the new facility’s vast space, S&S Canada can easily provide better service to customers one and two days away from Calgary, including those in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

“This new facility quadruples our warehouse space in Calgary,” says S&S Vice President of Operations Mike Mannucci. “That means we’ve significantly increased our inventory levels and overall product offerings. We can provide quicker service to our customers and get them the products they need on time, which is always our top priority.”

In January 2020, United States-based wholesale distributor S&S Activewear acquired Technosport Canada, reminting it as S&S Canada and following through on its promise to stock the right products, in more significant quantities, in all its buildings.

“This is a great milestone for the company,” says S&S President Jim Shannon. “We’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished in just one year’s time, and we’re also grateful that we’ve been able to both maintain employment and create new jobs for Canadians during a time of economic uncertainty.”

S&S Canada is not only retaining current staff, it’s also adding over 40 jobs in the upcoming months, improving shipping performance and meeting its customers’ growing need for more inventory and faster delivery.

The Calgary distribution centre now resides at #120-1625 100th Avenue NE, Calgary, AB, T3J 2G2, just 10 km away from the old facility.
