November 5, 2026 – Gildan Activewear Inc. reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of US$1.47 billion, an increase of 61.1% year-over-year, primarily driven by its acquisition of HanesBrands. Despite the significant revenue growth, the company reported weaker-than-anticipated demand across its Wholesale and Retail divisions, prompting a downward revision to its full-year financial outlook.
Wholesale sales declined 6.8% to US$735 million, reflecting softer demand and lower volumes. However, brands including Comfort Colors, American Apparel and Champion continued to perform well with customers despite challenging market conditions.
Gildan reported an adjusted operating margin of 27%, while adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 54% to US$1.54. The company also remains on track to achieve approximately US$100 million in cost synergies from its HanesBrands integration in 2026, with a target of US$250 million in annual savings by the end of 2028.
